Ebe Festival; Okene Chairman Convey Stakeholders Meeting, Explain Govt’s Position

Ahead of Ebe festival, Okene Local Government Chairman, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has reiterates his commitment to implement the state’s government resolution on the crisis between the two contending masqurades. The Council Chairman said the state government had resolved the crisis in favour of the two masqurades which indicates that both “Okevere-Adebe” and “Arijenu Idoji” will perform in the forthcoming Ebe festival.

Hon. Abdulrazaq stated this during an enlarge stakeholder’s meeting at the local government secretariat in Okene. He said some persons are trying to capitalise on the recent developments out of their selfish desires to paint him bad before some state officials as if he is not in support of the resolution.

Hon. Abdulrazaq has no interest in any of the masqurade, hence, his administration will implement the decision and ensure peace reign before and after the festival.

The Chairman cautioned evil doers and those whose stock-in-trade are to peddle rumours and backbite public officials for selfish gains to desist as government will not sit back and watch people destroy the peace of the council through fake and unfounded information. He said, such persons no matter how highly placed will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

On the security of lives and property during the festival, the chairman promised to hold meeting with all custodians as security agencies had already mapped out strategies to secure the local government area for the safety of all.
